An identity that holds together everywhere it appears

A logo is not a brand. A logo is the shorthand people use to recall one, which is why designing it in isolation so often disappoints: the mark looks right in the presentation and then falls apart on a business card, an app icon, a delivery box and a favicon. Branding work is mostly about the system around the mark, and whether that system survives the places it has to go.

We start with the business rather than the graphics. Who buys from you, what they are choosing between, and what you need them to remember when you are not in the room. A logo designed from that brief tends to still be right in five years. One designed from a mood board tends to be redesigned.

The pieces

Logo design that works at every size and in one colour, because eventually it will have to. Print design across the material you actually use, produced so it sits alongside your digital presence rather than drifting away from it as each gets updated separately. Packaging design for products that have to earn attention on a shelf next to competitors who are also trying.

Working with what you already have

Not every project is a blank page. Often there is a logo people recognise, a colour that has become yours, and twenty years of goodwill that would be foolish to discard. Knowing what to keep is part of the work. We are as willing to tell you your mark is fine and the problem is elsewhere as we are to redraw it.
